The LH test measures the levels of luteinizing hormone in your blood, which is another hormone produced by the pituitary gland that works together with FSH to regulate the menstrual cycle and control ovulation in women, as well as stimulate the production of testosterone in men.
Both of these tests are commonly used in evaluating fertility issues, as imbalances in FSH and LH levels can indicate problems with ovulation and sperm production. They can also be used to diagnose conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), premature ovarian failure, and pituitary gland disorders.
