Thyroid Panel

A thyroid panel is a group of blood tests that are used to evaluate the function of the thyroid gland. It typically includes tests for thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), thyroxine (T4), and triiodothyronine (T3). These tests can help diagnose thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) or hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid). Additionally, thyroid antibodies may be tested to diagnose autoimmune thyroid conditions such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis or Graves' disease. A thyroid panel is often ordered if a person is experiencing symptoms such as fatigue, weight changes, hair loss, or changes in heart rate.
